DJ In Da House!

DJ with PJ: Minneapolis and St. Paul PJ Libraries present 5th annual summer event

Sun., Aug. 9; 10 a.m.; Minnesota Children’s Museum; 10 West 7th St.; St Paul, MN

Families with children between the ages of 0-8 are invited to dance, dance, dance the AM away with this annual fun-filled event, which will also include games and other giveaways. In addition, you’ll also receive a pass to the museum for the day, as well as an exclusive discount on a one-year membership, if purchased that day. So, basically, what I’m getting out of all of this is there’s going to be a rave for the little ones. Hey, get ‘em started early, as I always like to say! Note: While the cost for this event is $10 per family (up to six), no one will be turned away if unable to pay.

Booze Cruise for Jews (I’m a poet and I didn’t even know it!)

St. Paul Young Adult Division Jewsz Cruize

Sun., Aug. 9; 1:30 p.m.; St. Croix Boat and Packet Co.; 525 S. Main Street; Stillwater, MN

Join St. Paul’s Young Adult Division JewzCruize ($30) for a two-and-a-half hour cruise ride on the St. Croix River! That’s right! You (“you” being ages 21-45) can mingle and get hammered while on a boat!! However, any unruly behavior will result in being thrown overboard into shark-infested waters. And you know how those sharks have just been appearing out of nowhere, recently! So, don’t test the waters. HA! See what I did right there?!

Take Me to the River

Voices on the River: The Meanings of Water

Sun., Aug. 9; 4 p.m.; Padelford Landing; Harriet Island; St. Paul, MN

It’s time to keep the faith(s) with this multi-faith learning event on the Mississippi River. The purpose of the event ($36) is to “engage in discussion, text study and exploration of the centrality of water to both our physical and spiritual lives from the perspective of various religious, environmental and spiritual practices.” Or, you can just purchase a bottle of Aquafina and stare at it for a few hours. Just sayin’.

Back Pocket…Events to Come! (Or…Events to Come, but we’ll schmooze about them more later!)
