Lady Gaga performs in Israel but Amnesty International skips the party

pf button both Lady Gaga performs in Israel but Amnesty International skips the party

It is hard to say what is weirder – listening to Lady Gaga do a fake orgasm on stage in Tel Aviv or watching her get on her hands and knees, crawling towards the screaming Israeli audience in a blue sequined outfit as she sings “Shalom Aleichem, Shalom my friends.”

Hmm . . .  Tough call.

During the performance earlier this week, Lady Gaga told the Tel Aviv audience of her love for Israel, its land, its food, and its good-looking men. My favorite quotes: “Yesterday Jerusalem. Today I swam in the dead sea. So naturally tonight I feel like mother fucking superwoman.” And “you guys have the fucking best humus I’ve ever had in my whole life. I think I am a chick pea right now, I ate so much.

Here’s the racy video from her performance:

Strange? Definitely. Bold and fabulous? For sure.

Too bad Amnesty International skipped the party. While Lady Gaga was singing and dancing in Tel Aviv, Amnesty announced under pressure from the same pro-Palestinian coalition that is protesting Madonna’s upcoming Israeli performance that it no longer wants to receive any of the funds raised from Leonard Cohen’s September concert in Israel.  Leonard Cohen’s sold-out “Concert for Reconciliation, Tolerance and Peace” will raise money for a variety of peace and justice groups, including one that brings together former Palestinian terrorists with Israeli soldiers.  Sounds a bit short-sighted and counter-productive to me. What do you think?

Definitely bold. I think I’m a little motion sick from the camera work though. The crowd was sure pumped up. Btw, what does a chick pea smell like anyway?

  2. That did look like an insanely cool concert. And I don’t think a chick pea smells like anything, although our new Noshin’ columnist might know better than I. ;)
