Michael,

My cousin is not by-the-book kosher. No pork and no meat and dairy, so he'll have plenty to enjoy.

One of the purposes of TC Jewfolk is to get perspectives from the entire Jewish community - of which I am a proud member.

I like to quote my Hebrew school teacher Mrs. Davidoff a lot. She always said, "A Jew is a Jew is a Jew." G-d won't care how many trips to the Big Fat Bacon stand I make on Saturday - he knows how tasty it is.

Sorry, Jeff, but your kosher friend probably will have to eat before hand. As many of these places use the same oil for frying different foods, and the prep for veggetarian cooked foods is not supervised by most, your friend will probably not partake.

I understand that you do not keep kosher, but even with the knowledge that most Jews in the TC also do not, reading your piece on TCjewfolk with so many featured pork references was a surprise. To each his own; it just surprised me.
