As both a Jew and a small businessowner who happily pays for health insurance coverage for his employees, I'm stunned at the mendacity and lack of 'sachel' in Republican Mark Miller's frothing about Obama's healthcare reform.
Put aside the bizarre situation that Miller's house of healthcare cards appears to rest on two laughably partisan sources -- Republican Senator (and ordained Baptist deacon) Tom Coburn and factually-challenged conservative Bill Kristol.
What's most strange is Miller's criticism of the Obama Administration's wise support for comparative effectiveness research (CER) panels to evaluate medical procedures -- imagine, a non-political body which would ensure that medical procedures for your family are actually backed by science rather than by superstition, ideology or a corporation's public relations department!
And the Republicans' warnings that Obama's reforms will lead to "rationing" make me physically ill -- bubbaleh, we've had 'rationing' of healthcare procedures by corporations for decades. But of course, those are the companies that give campaign donations to Republican officeholders, so it can't be all bad. . .

Must you print these distortions?

As a small business owner I seem to know more about health care reform and the truth than Mark Miller.

One point at a time-
1. The $500 billion cut from Medicare is WASTE. Medicare will actually be stronger AFTER reform than it is today. Why is the GOP against cutting waste?
2. The national debt will be CUT after reform not expanded. Why is the GOP against cutting the deficit?
3. We are a Pro-Choice people who believe in the sanctity of life. Why are these Jews in favor of making Christianity the law of the land?
4. The only taxes that are going up are for the wealthy. I know one person who got a $40K tax cut PER YEAR under Bush. It was an obscene windfall that only served to expand our national debt. No one in the middle or lower income classes paid one dime less in taxes during GOP rule. Health care reform simply rolls back some of that tax cut. Don't worry fat cats, you'll still be wealthy after health care reform.

It's against the Jewish law to peddle in these lies and distortions. Why do these Jews practice politics as their higher calling? Truly shameful.
