When we read Ansky’s “The Dybbuk” in college, there was such surprise that we had that tradition of demons and superstitions…and we (the two Jewish profs and I) spent a lot of time putting out “fires.” I was glad we read it, but it need lots more pre-work than we anticipated.

I’ve heard great things about the film but I’m not sure I want to see in theater. Maybe when it comes out on Netflicks…
