Ongoing:
- Now – March 21: The History Theatre presents Hiding in the Open. The remarkable true story of Sabina Zimering and her sister who survived the horrors of the Holocaust by disguising themselves as Catholics and escaping from Nazi-occupied Poland and living in Germany. Family Day March 14th is free.
- Now – March 28: The Minnesota Jewish Theatre Company presents “A Report on the Banality of Love” about the brilliant philosopher Hannah Arendt and her torrid love affair with her mentor Martin Heidegger. The play explores ethics and the morality of love against a backdrop of the rise of the Nazis.
- Now – May 8: The Diary of Anne Frank at the Park Square Theatre. 10am performances.
Saturday, March 13:
- Jews, Food and Planet Earth: A New Vision with Nigel Savage. Synaplex Shabbat at Adath on Friday and Saturday. Nigel Savage will speak during the Shabbat Morning Service (“Sacred Vessels: How the Jewish Food Movement Is Changing the World”, and at a Learn after Lunch (“Environmental Issues for Environmental Skeptics”). Other speakers/workshops as well.
- Jewish Renewal Service at Temple Israel. A mixture of heartfelt prayers, chants, meditation, music, movement, d’var Torah and meaningful discussion. Musical instruments are encouraged.
March 13 – 28:
- Performances of “Jack and Rochelle” by Buffy Sedlecek at Theatre Or at the Sabes JCC. Based on the memoir Jack and Rochelle, A Holocaust Story of Love and Resistance. Opening Night Reception March 13th. Pay what you can nights March 18, 22, 25.

- Israel Program Center of the Minneapolis Jewish Federation Presents Israeli Ambassador to the U.N. Gabriela Shalev. 7-9pm. She will speak on “Israel and the United Nations: Challenges of Global Diplomacy and Advocacy.” at Adath.
Saturday, March 20:
- Pesah Uncorked. The four glasses of wine we drink during the Seder need not become a Mitzrayim of their own. A little Pesah learning paired with a little wine education. Featuring Star Tribune Wine Columnist, Bill Ward, and Rabbi Avi Olitzky. Light hors d’oeuvres and dessert (dairy) will also be served. 8:15pm. Cost for the evening is $10 in advance, $15 at the door.
- Sam Usem speaks on “Global Hunger Solutions” at Global Hunger Shabbat at Beth Jacob. Sam recently returned from three weeks of volunteering in Haiti with the organization, Compatible Technology International, St. Paul.

- Third Annual Saint Paul Interfaith Network Passover Seder at Temple of Aaron. 4:30-8:00 PM. Led by adult and youth leaders of several religious traditions, the Seder expresses the universal longing for freedom, justice, and transformation in our lives and in our world through ritual, readings, song, and a shared meal. $15, $10 for youth (18 and under), for light vegetarian dinner. Monday, March 22:
- Palestinians and Israelis: Conflict, Grief and Peace-Making. 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. – LOCATION TBD. Featuring dialogue among Jews, Muslims and Christians And selections from “Encounter Point,” a film about Israeli and Palestinian parents who together formed the Bereaved Parents Circle–Families Forum. Following the film, facilitators will guide mixed table discussions so that all attendees will be able to share reactions to the film and the topic. Free. Co-sponsored by Mount Zion Temple , Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, the Islamic Center of MN, SPIN (Saint Paul Interfaith Network) and the Jay Phillips Center for Interfaith Learning.

Thursday, March 25:
- Joint Religious Legislative Coalition Day on the Hill. Keynote Speaker: Rabbi Harold J. Kravitz, senior rabbi at Adath. Our theme for 2010 Day on the Hill is Justice We Pursue! (Deut. 16:18-20). This is a wonderful text to reflect upon and brings direct inspiration and guidance to our work on poverty, health care, judicial fairness, housing, and taxation.
