I really appreciate the well thought out reason for why you chose not to celebrate Valentine's Day. I think anytime we make those kinds of decisions as a family and for kids, we have to know, and be able to articulate, the why behind our decision. I also love the conclusion where you give your blessing, so to speak, to celebrate love whenever we can. While choosing a secular, or American, holiday *over* a Jewish one would be "watering down" our Judaism, celebrating secular AND Jewish holidays that speak to us simply adds to the foundation and fabric of our family life.
