As much as the EU (or some of its members) are being meddlesome here, there may be something to recognizing a Palestinian state. (Or two? Gaza in Gaza and Palestine in Judea and Samaria? They&#039;re separate anyway.)
Because some of Israel&#039;s problems in dealing with Palestinian violence have much to do with confronting a non-state actor. Call me hopelessly naive, but couldn&#039;t a sovereign Palestine be held to more responsibility than non-state Hamas or al-Aqsa Martyrs? Imagine these headlines: &quot;Palesine fires rockets at Israel,&quot; &quot;Palestine launches cross-border raid; kidnaps Israeli corporal,&quot; &quot;Palestine sends covert operatives to kill Israeli civilians.&quot;</description>
