Job Summary/Description:

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Jewish Family Service of St. Paul is seeking a part-time volunteer coordinator to develop and oversee a new volunteer program for JFS senior service clients living in the community. The volunteer coordinator will work closely with the LEAP (Life Enrichment Action Program for 55+) coordinator to support that program’s volunteer needs. LEAP is an innovative program that supports older adults to effectively address their depression through holistic, self-empowering interventions. Responsibilities include 1) overall development of the volunteer program, 2) volunteer recruitment, training and supervision and 3) volunteer retention, enrichment and appreciation. Qualifications for the job include:

Experience and Qualification Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management/social services preferred
• 1-2 years’ experience in volunteer management or appropriate related field desired
• Experience in the field of aging desired
• Demonstrated leadership and strategic thinking abilities
• Strong organizational skills with an ability to attend to detail
• Excellent communication skills including public speaking and writing skills
• Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to work with a variety of individuals
• Ability to manage and resolve conflicts
• Personal energy, enthusiasm and positive attitude necessary
• Reliable transportation
