About Jewfolk, Inc. & FolkLab

Jewfolk, Inc. is the premier Jewish media and engagement organization in the Twin Cities and beyond, connecting, engaging, and inspiring Jews of all backgrounds through storytelling, relationships, and innovation.

FolkLab brings Jewish ideas, values, and conversations to life through authentic educational experiences, relationships, curiosity, and creativity. Rather than focusing on “programs,” we focus on people: how they connect, what they seek, how they deepen and share their Jewish wisdom, and how they find meaning together.

Position Overview

The FolkLab Manager leads the design and growth of this next chapter of adult learning and engagement across the Twin Cities Jewish community. This role centers on human-centered design—listening deeply, learning from community members, and co-creating opportunities for connection, conversation, and Jewish exploration that reflect people’s real lives and needs.

Reporting directly to the Director of Engagement and collaborating closely with other Jewfolk departments, the FolkLab Manager blends community organizing, creative facilitation, and design-thinking methods to guide individuals and small groups on pathways to Jewish learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Community Research & Design: Conduct ongoing listening sessions, 1:1 interviews, and surveys to identify community interests and co-create relationship-focused experiences.
  • Relationship-Based Engagement: Build 1:1 relationships across diverse backgrounds, organize small-group gatherings/classes, contract educators, and lead the annual FolkLab major event..
  • Storytelling & Collaboration: Collaborate with Jewfolk’s media platforms (websites, podcasts, social media) to share stories emerging from FolkLab, and represent FolkLab at community events.
  • Donor Cultivation & Evaluation: Assess engagement quality, and partner with the CEO to identify potential donors within the participant base for stewardship.
  • Administration & Operations: Manage department budget, grant deliverables, handle event logistics (contracts, venues, catering, registration), and maintain event calendars.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience: 3+ years in Jewish community engagement, human-centered design, adult Jewish education, or related fields.
  • Skills: Proven success in relationship-building, facilitation, committee leadership, grant management, and event logistics (large and small scale).
  • Technical Tools: Comfort with Google Workspace, Mailchimp, WordPress, Canva, project management software, and survey design/data analysis tools.
