Position Summary:
Bet Shalom Yeladim is looking for warm, nuturing, enthusiastic, and qualified Lead Teachers to join our staff for our 2022-2023 school year, which starts on Monday, August 29 for staff. We have job openings in various age groups, from infants to Pre-K. Each classroom will have two Lead Teachers to execute a successful environment collaboratively.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Establish a warm and inviting climate in the classroom
- Plan, develop and implement daily lesson plans that include; best practices, developmentally appropriate practices, educational, enrichment and Judaic activities for children.
- Plan and arrange classrooms into distinctive learning areas to promote an effective learning environment.
- Screen and assess children to determine developmental/educational needs.
- Develop and implement individual education plans to comply with specific program needs.
- Monitor meal and snack periods, classroom activities, restroom activities and playground activities to ensure a safe environment for all children.
- Document student progress.
- Plan classroom activities for parent and community volunteers.
- Attend and participates in workshops and other training meetings to acquire and disseminate information.
- Communicate effectively with parents, staff, community and students to enhance community relationships.
- Other duties and responsibilities as required by the Director.
Experience and Qualifications Requirements:
- Must qualify as a lead teacher according to the State of Minnesota licensing regulations of Rule 3.
- At least two years of experience in an early childhood program in a developmentally appropriate environment.
- A passion for working with young children and their families.
- Ability to relate to a highly diverse environment and to be a team player.
- Work independently and accept direction.
- Flexible, good judgment, discretion, confidentiality, calm and positive attitude.
- Anticipate and prevent problems.
- Have the ability to engage and participate in all classroom activities (lifting up to 35 lbs, pushing up to 100 lbs., bending/kneeling/sitting at child level on the floor, diapering, assisting with nap time, etc.)
