Position Summary:
Living Mussar is dedicated to fostering personal growth, ethical living, and community connection through the practice of Mussar. The Managing Director plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the organization, supporting strategic initiatives, and strengthening community engagement. Reporting to the Executive Director, this role involves overseeing administrative functions, organizing and managing program implementation, providing fundraising support, and engaging in community outreach.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Operations & Administration:
- Manage daily operations to ensure efficiency and alignment with the organization’s mission.
- Oversee administrative tasks, including budgeting, financial tracking, marketing and board communications.
- Develop internal processes and best practices to enhance organizational effectiveness.
Program & Community Engagement:
- Support the planning and execution of Mussar programs, workshops, and events.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director to expand program offerings and community partnerships.
- Engage with members, volunteers, and partners to foster participation and connection.
Fundraising & Financial Support:
- Assist in donor relations, grant applications, and fundraising campaigns.
- Monitor budgets, process financial reports, and ensure responsible resource management.
- Work with the Executive Director to develop sustainable funding strategies.
Marketing & Communications:
- Support outreach efforts through social media, newsletters, and website updates.
- Help promote programs and events to increase participation and visibility.
- Represent Living Mussar at community events and networking opportunities.
Experience and Qualifications Requirements:
Qualifications:
- Several years experience in nonprofit management, administration, and community engagement with demonstrated responsibility for anticipating organizational needs over time.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a dynamic, startup environment.
- Knowledge of or interest in Mussar, Jewish values, and/or ethical personal development.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Experience in fundraising, budgeting, and program management.
- A desire for long-term engagement and growth within the organization and currently located (or planning to relocate) in the Twin Cities area.

Additional Information
Full-time salary is expected to be between $50K and $60K annually, dependent on future fundraising. This is a growth position, with initial commitment at .75FTE, growing to 1FTE within the first year. Salary will grow over time commensurately. At this time, we are not able to offer healthcare or retirement benefits.
