Minnesota Jewish Theatre Company presents Collected Stories by Donald Margulies (February 24 – March 18 2018).
Two women take the stage for this dramatic play about an author and her student protégé, kicking off Women’s History Month this March.
Ruth Steiner is a respected author in the autumn of her career when she hires Lisa, a graduate student, to be her assistant. Under Ruth’s mentorship, Lisa’s talent is unleashed, but when Lisa writes a novel based upon Ruth’s past, their friendship explodes with questions about intellectual property and the ownership of experiences.
This gem of a play, by one of today’s most admired playwrights, will feature the acting talent of Maggie Bearmon Pistner as Ruth (recently seen at MJTC) Ashley Rose Montondo as Lisa (recently seen at the Guthrie Theater), and is directed by Jennie Ward (Harvard University). Collected Stories will have a performance and a special post-show discussion on International Women’s Day, and several performances during Women’s History Month. There will be several post-show discussions (Doorways Programs) in congruence with the show. Contact us for more details.
