Dementia Caregivers Support Group
JFS, in partnership with Sholom Home East and the Alzheimer’s Association, facilitates a caregiver support group for people who are providing care to a loved one suffering from dementia. The group is designed to provide proven resources and methods for caregivers who are caring for a someone with dementia at home or considering in-home services or a transition to assisted living or long-term care.
During the meeting, members discuss experiences and emotions that accompany this often-challenging role. The comfort, support, and validation gained by interacting with others in a similar position can be vital to the mental and physical well-being of a caregiver.
The group meets on the second and fourth Monday of each month from 3-4 p.m. in the Community Room at Sholom Home East, 740 Kay Avenue, St. Paul. The group is free and open to the public.
