Minnesota Shoah Stories

In the wake of the Holocaust, dozens of survivors journeyed to Minnesota to establish new lives for themselves. While they couldn’t escape their pasts, survivors in Minnesota incorporated themselves into communities across the state in meaningful and profound ways. What began as an effort to catalog the stories of survivors in the Upper Midwest Jewish Archives and Center for Holocaust and Genocide Studies collections has grown into an interactive project uplifting the experiences of survivors who found a new home in Minnesota. Join us as we celebrate this story of resilience in the aftermath of the Shoah and a conversation about how we can continue documenting this story.
