On One Foot: An Introduction to Judaism Class
Judaism is not just a religion or a culture or people, or even a way of living in the world – it is a world unto itself, encompassing ancient and newer rituals, complex ideas, and thousands of years of history. If you’ve been curious about Jewish learning but didn’t know where to start, this class is for you! Join Beth Jacob Congregation’s Rabbi Adam Rubin and Rabbi Tamar Magill-Grimm, as well as some guest teachers, on Zoom for an adventure in Jewish learning using The American Jewish University’s On One Foot: An Intro to Judaism Coursebook created by friend and colleague Rabbi Adam Greenwald. The coursebook covers all of the essentials in an interactive format that encourages personal engagement. This course is ideal for students seeking a basic orientation to fundamental Jewish concepts, whether you grew up in a Jewish (or “Jew-ish”) home, or not. Tuition is on a sliding scale from $36 to $180 and is open to Beth Jacob members as well as the general community. You need not be Jewish to take this class!
