Reflecting on 30 years: A Wall of Wondering Jews

On Sunday, September 16, 2018, from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Or Emet will host President Scott Chazdon and Susan Weinberg, who will lead a group discussion using the “Wall of Wonder” facilitation method to explore the events and experiences that have made Or Emet a “Home for Wondering Jews” as it celebrates 30 years affiliated with the Society for Humanistic Judaism.

Longer-term, newer, and prospective members and visitors will learn from each other about the events and turning points in Or Emet’s history, as well as personal stories of how people first connected to Or Emet, experienced life cycle events, and embraced the congregation.

Scott Chazdon is a sociologist with the Center for Community Vitality at University of Minnesota Extension. Susan Weinberg is an artist, author, and genealogist, as well as co-editor of the Or Emet Illuminator.

Or Emet adult programs are free and open to the public, and meet concurrently with the Jewish Cultural School at the St. Paul Talmud Torah, 768 Hamline Avenue South. http://www.ttsp.org/directions/
