The Art of Wrapping: A Hands-On Workshop For The Tichel-Curious

Learn about the history and halakhah of head covering and get some hands-on experience with the modern practice of wrapping with scarves for yourself! We’ll explore and discuss ideas about head coverings but the focus of this workshop will be learning some basics about how to create beautiful and stylish wraps. Attendees will gain experience with the tools that are used for wrapping, discover how to achieve certain styles, and leave the workshop with a sense of which options might be right for them if they want to try wrapping. Resources for learning many, many wrap styles, where to find the tools, scarves, and more will be provided.

Jessica Zehavi and Giulia Girgenti will facilitate a short discussion and activity about head covering, demo a few specific wrap styles, and discuss the tools. Then attendees will be able to try out wrapping themselves with a variety of tools and either their own scarves or ones available to try.
