Virtual Baby Shower Event for Hadassah Minneapolis St. Paul
Save the date! On May 1, from 10-11:30 a.m., Hadassah Minneapolis St. Paul will sponsor a virtual baby shower to raise funds to support the pediatric units at Hadassah Hospitals in Israel. The program will feature guest speaker Gila Zarbiv, who is a nurse midwife from Israel. She will speak to us about her experiences working with parents and babies prenatally, during labor and delivery, and postnatally. Gila Zarbiv is a Certified Nurse Midwife from Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem, Israel and is the Infectious Disease Prevention Specialist in the Labor and Delivery Ward. She currently is pursuing her Masters with a thesis in the field of Women’s Health and will then continue on to her PhD. Gila, a graduate of Yeshiva University, moved to Israel where she studied nursing in the Henrietta Szold Hadassah Hebrew University School of Nursing. After receiving her RN she went on to study midwifery in Kaplan School of Midwifery. Gila is also a Certified Lactation Consultant and Childbirth Educator. She meets and follows women throughout all the stages of their pregnancy, delivery, and postnatal period, as well as private sessions with couples who have had traumatic birth experiences or experienced loss during pregnancy, labor, or delivery. She lives in Jerusalem with her husband, an oncologist (whom she met in Hadassah) and their four perfect children. Gila was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA (where her parents still live) and since her teenage years has been a passionate supporter of the land and people of Israel.
