Yiddish Book Center Virtual Field Trip
A “virtual field trip” to the Yiddish Book Center will be led by Education Program Manager, Jennifer Young, via a PowerPoint presentation on Zoom. The presentation will last 45-60 minutes. We will tell the story of how the Yiddish Book Center was founded, explain what kinds of programs we run, and show how we collect and redistribute books. We share several short videos where our Fellows give “behind the scenes” glimpses into the special collections held in our vault. Then, Jennifer will lead a Q&A to help answer questions about what Yiddish is, where it comes from, and who speaks it today.
This program is being offered in conjunction with the “Stories of Exile” Reading Group program, a partnership between the Minnesota JCC and Saint Paul Public Library.
