SUMMARY:Stories from the Tribe: Twin Cities
DESCRIPTION:Stories From the Tribe is TC Jewfolk’s biggest night of the year — a joyful evening of Jewish storytelling that also fuels everything we do.  \nFor one unforgettable evening\, 12 community members take the bima to share their true Jewish stories – about family\, the generations that shape us\, and the complicated\, hilarious\, sacred\, and sometimes messy experience of being Jewish today. \nSome stories will make you laugh.\nSome might make you cry.\nAll of them will remind you that the threads connecting us as Jews – across generations\, identities\, and experiences – are stronger than we sometimes realize. \nIn this moment\, when the world feels heavy\, gathering together in Jewish community matters more than ever. Stories from the Tribe is a chance to pause\, breathe\, laugh\, and remember that our stories are what keep Jewish life vibrant. \nStories from the Tribe is TC Jewfolk’s signature annual fundraiser. When you give\, you ensure that Jewish voices are heard and Jewish stories are told. Your donation sustains the independent Jewish journalism\, storytelling\, podcasts\, and community connections that TC Jewfolk delivers year round. \nOur show will once again be emceed by the incredible Jordana Green\, co-host of The Adam & Jordana Show on WCCO Radio\, guiding us through an evening that promises to be heartfelt\, hilarious\, and deeply meaningful. \nThank you for joining with us to amplify Jewish voices. Storytelling isn’t just what we do – it’s how we build Jewish community. \nShow date: June 22\, 2026\nDoors open: 6:00 PM\nShow begins: 7:00 PM\nNew this year thanks to a generous donor: Community dessert reception to follow \nLocation details will be shared upon ticket purchase. \nGet your tickets today!

SUMMARY:Violins of Hope: Strings of the Holocaust Film Screening
DESCRIPTION:Narrated by Academy Award-winning actor Adrien Brody\, Violins of Hope: Strings of the Holocaust follows Israeli master violinmaker Amnon Weinstein as he restores violins carried by starving Jewish refugees on death marches\, played under coercion in concentration camps\, and held close in ghettos and work camps—each instrument bearing witness to suffering\, courage\, and resilience. The film interweaves these histories with Weinstein’s mission to collect\, repair\, and return the violins to the world’s stages through performances by renowned musicians and orchestras\, an act of love and defiance against those who tried to silence both the music and a people. \nPost-film conversation featuring Violins of Hope Co-Founder Avshi Weinstein. \nView Trailer Here

And especially a story that has a big idea connected to other big ideas? Join us as we take our time to read these texts slowly\, working to consider why they were written and what messages we might learn (or push back on) from them. \nSefer HaAggadah is a massive collection of aggadot/tales\, arranged thematically\, and gleaned in the early 20th century by Bialik and Ravnitzky from classic Jewish sources (up to about 1000 CE). \nClasses are designed for drop-in participation; no prior knowledge is necessary or expected. \n\nInstructor Bio\nSara Lynn Newberger remembers receiving her first chumash (volume of Torah) in 3rd grade – and thus was born a life-long love of studying Torah. Born in Chicago\, she landed in St. Paul in 1989 where she came to work at the Talmud Torah of St. Paul Day School because the mission and vision resonated with her soul. After serving in many roles at TTSP\, she served as the Director of Hineni from its inception in 2014 to 2022. She believes passionately in the importance of Jewish learning and the impact it can have on people’s lives. She loves exploring Jewish texts\, customs\, values\, and ideas with students. \nSara Lynn enjoys cooking\, gardening\, visiting with friends\, singing\, and being outdoors. Sara Lynn is married to Barbie Levine and is Savta to Ruby and Lucy. \n\nSuggested Donation\nWe welcome your generous support to help sustain this class and future courses. \n\nRegistration Form\nClick here to register. \n\nLearn More\nLearn more about FolkLab\, our current classes\, and our Engage! Day of Learning.

SUMMARY:Carrying the Sound Forward: A Violins of Hope Closing Gathering
DESCRIPTION:As the Violins of Hope residency draws to a close\, we invite the community to gather for an evening of reflection\, blessing\, and shared presence. This closing program weaves together brief musical offerings performed on Violins of Hope\, reflections from local rabbis\, a specially commissioned dance performance\, and communal ritual—honoring the journeys these instruments have made and the stories they carry. The evening will culminate in communal singing\, a chance to send the instruments onward with love and care\, and to carry forward what we’ve heard\, felt\, and will remember. \n  \nFor the safety and security of all JCC patrons – any non-member guest attending an event at one of our Minnesota JCC campuses will need to show a valid US ID (Drivers License or Passport) to access the facility.
