SUMMARY:Violins of Hope: Strings of the Holocaust Film Screening
DESCRIPTION:Narrated by Academy Award-winning actor Adrien Brody\, Violins of Hope: Strings of the Holocaust follows Israeli master violinmaker Amnon Weinstein as he restores violins carried by starving Jewish refugees on death marches\, played under coercion in concentration camps\, and held close in ghettos and work camps—each instrument bearing witness to suffering\, courage\, and resilience. The film interweaves these histories with Weinstein’s mission to collect\, repair\, and return the violins to the world’s stages through performances by renowned musicians and orchestras\, an act of love and defiance against those who tried to silence both the music and a people. \nPost-film conversation featuring Violins of Hope Co-Founder Avshi Weinstein. \nView Trailer Here

SUMMARY:Carrying the Sound Forward: A Violins of Hope Closing Gathering
DESCRIPTION:As the Violins of Hope residency draws to a close\, we invite the community to gather for an evening of reflection\, blessing\, and shared presence. This closing program weaves together brief musical offerings performed on Violins of Hope\, reflections from local rabbis\, a specially commissioned dance performance\, and communal ritual—honoring the journeys these instruments have made and the stories they carry. The evening will culminate in communal singing\, a chance to send the instruments onward with love and care\, and to carry forward what we’ve heard\, felt\, and will remember. \n  \nFor the safety and security of all JCC patrons – any non-member guest attending an event at one of our Minnesota JCC campuses will need to show a valid US ID (Drivers License or Passport) to access the facility.
