“This cohort is made up of an incredible group of proven leaders,” says Lauren Kaplan, Director of the Harry Kay Center for Leadership Excellence. “These are 40 people with diverse background and interests who are all very passionate about the Twin Cities Jewish community. We’re very excited to see their leadership grow and ideas take off over the next two years, and to see them become that much more invested in the local and global Jewish communities.”
The 40 leaders taking part in Cohort X were selected from a pool of 78 applicants from across Minneapolis and St. Paul. They range in age from 30 to 45, and represent 11 congregations and many Jewish and secular organizations from across the Twin Cities:
Cohort X will meet monthly starting in October for leadership development sessions led by local and international experts. During the first year of the program, participants will develop a deep, lasting relationship with their cohort, customize their Personal Leadership Plans, and dive into learning about the local and international Jewish communities. Year two begins with a Global Experience to Kiev and Israel, and will explore personal and organizational leadership topics such as nurturing vision, growing from failure, and effective change management, all through a Jewish lens.
The cohort will begin and end their two years together with a Shabbaton at Herzl Camp.
Having graduated nearly 350 leaders in its more than 25-year history, HKLI has truly changed the face of leadership in the Twin Cities Jewish community by inspiring and assisting emerging leaders in addressing the issues and challenges facing us as a Jewish community and as individual Jews.
