Introducing Talmud Torah’s New Head of School!

Dear Talmud Torah Families and Friends,

We are very excited to announce our new Head of School, Jody Moreimi.

Jody, a Talmud Torah alumnus, with an impressive career in education and strong ties to the Minneapolis Jewish community, will join us on November 29. Michelle Parks, who has served as interim director after Rabbi Hazzan Jeremy Lipton departed in late summer, will assist in the transition and remain an integral part of the Talmud Torah staff.

Jody joins us from Beth El Synagogue, where she served as director of youth engagement, enrichment, and informal education. She has also taught at the Heilicher Minneapolis Jewish Day School, along with a number of other schools in the Twin Cities area.

Jody earned a B.A. in Theater and Drama from Indiana University and a M.A. in Teaching Elementary Education from National Louis University in Chicago. Jody is married with two children. Her oldest will begin at Talmud Torah next fall.

Throughout the interview process, Jody’s passion for Jewish youth education, commitment to lifelong learning and relationship-focused leadership style shone through. In addition to our search committee, which conducted a rigorous and comprehensive search, Jody met with faculty, staff, clergy from both Adath Jeshurun and Beth El, and our Board of Directors. Our Board voted to offer her the position.

The past few months have been challenging for Talmud Torah as we welcomed our children back to class amidst a global pandemic, while also searching for a new Head of School. But this period has also been inspiring, with so many in our community stepping up to support our school, and children.

As we transition to new leadership, we are confident that the future of Talmud Torah is strong and in excellent hands. Please join us in welcoming Jody Moreimi (back) to our school.
