Full House

Family Fun Open House (FREE!)

Sun., Aug. 16; 10 a.m.; Bet Shalom Congregation; 13613 Orchard Rd., Minnetonka, MN

Bet Shalom Yeladim Preschool will be holding a fun openhouse for families. There will be free crafts, face-painting, music, ice cream and a visit from the Minnetonka Fire Department. The preschool itself “provides an excellent educational experience for young children six weeks to five years of age through Jewish values, literacy, mathematics, music, art and science, and gun running.” Ok, ok, ok…I made that last one up! Jeez!

Somethin’ Strange In Your Neighborhood!

Movies in the Park with BJC (FREE!)

Mon., Aug. 17; 8:30 p.m; Gluek Park; 2000 Marshall St NE, Minneapolis, MN

Bring your popcorn, candy, etc., because the BJC 20s/30s Group will be showing “Ghostbusters!!!!!!” Do I have to write more?! It’s f***ing “Ghostbusters!!!” Why are you still reading this?!?!

Woodstock ’15 (Part 4)

Family Summer Concert Series (FREE!)

Wed., Aug. 19; 5:30 p.m; Moir Park; Bloomington, MN,

The end is nigh! Well, at least it is for this four-part concert series, which will feature Munchkin Musik with Dayna Koehn. I’m only coming for the opening act featuring The Lollipop Guild. But that’s just me.

Into the Mystic

Mystic Hebrew Folk (FREE!)

Thurs., Aug 20; Wolfe Park Amphitheater; 3700 Monterey Dr., St. Louis Park, MN

Still hunger for more live music? Did the Munchkin lady not do it for ya?! Then get your asses to the second Annual Summertime Concert by the Levitt/Awend Band. I’d tell you more about it, but that would be ruining the mystical-um-ness(?)!

Jammin’ Jews!

Jr. Jew Jam with Rabbi Jake ($10/family)

Thurs., Aug 20; 5:30 p.m.; Aish MN; Sabes JCC 4330 Cedar Lake Rd., St. Louis Park MN

Parents are encouraged to bring their children for a pre-Shabbat with performer Rabbi Jake from Atlanta (!). Activities include song and dance, story-telling with the PJ Library, challah braiding and challah cover making. Dinner will be for sale. Riiiiiiight?! Because there just weren’t enough Rabbis in Minnesota, they’re sourcing singing rabbis from Atlanta. Makes perfect sense to me!

Back Pocket…Events to Come! (Or…Events to Come, but we’ll schmooze about them more later!)
