There are lots of great Chanukah events this week for families and adults. Eight crazy nights…

The Chanukah Guest

This play about a grandma telling tales to her grandchildren, as well as a hungry surprise guest, is bound to warm the hearts of parents and their kiddies. I wish my grandma had told me stories. Usually, the only thing that ever came out of her mouth was, “You’ve gained weight,” or, “You look fat.” G-d, I miss her!

Chop, chop, everyone!! Beth Jacob is holding a bare-knuckle, back-alley street fight! Well, ok. Maybe not. It’s more of a cook-off to see who can make a better latke after each contestant is give a basket full of mystery ingredients. The winner takes home the much-coveted Golden Latke Trophy. MAY THE ODDS BE EVER IN YOUR FAVOR!!

Winter Wonderland (Jewish Edition!) (FREE!)

Honest Abe ($10)

InHeiritance Project: The Abraham Play
Thurs. Dec. 10; 7 p.m.; Bedlam Theatre; 213 East Fourth St., St. Paul, MN

Wanna feel enlightened this Hanukah? Come see JAR’s new production: The Inheiritance Project. Created through interviews, dance and theater workshops, and community study of the Abraham narrative in the book of Genesis, Jon Adam Ross premieres the first installment of his five-play project. This play was written with the Jewish communities in Minneapolis and Saint Paul. Color me intrigued!! That sounds really interesting!!
