As such, over the past two to three years, ADL Midwest has provided anti-bias training to multiple police forces, houses of worship, and child-serving institutions across Minnesota; forged relationships with several leading non-profit organizations and foundations; participated in high visibility community events and rallies; engaged a consultant to advance the organization in Minnesota, and formed a volunteer committee to help broaden reach.

ADL Midwest is now seeking a Community Engagement Manager who can help build upon this momentum by collaborating with regional office staff to further heighten ADL’s visibility in Minnesota, educate people on what ADL does, more deeply engage current supporters, and cultivate new relationships that would forward ADL Midwest’s work in the state. Part of this will be accomplished by establishing annual goals for, managing and expanding ADL’s Minnesota Committee, made up of local volunteers, designed to serve as the regional office’s “ambassadors.”

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement annual plans, in conjunction with the regional office, for raising ADL’s visibility in Minnesota and engaging more people in the pursuit of ADL’s mission.
  • Coordinate a mix of events to further introduce ADL to the community (per the above), share compelling content and demonstrate how people can make an impact.
  • Propose content for these community events.
  • Research and suggest speakers and desired audiences for such sessions.
  • Conduct site visits to identify potential venues and manage day-to-day logistics for these events.
  • Operate within established budgets for each event.
  • Manage event promotion and follow-up.
  • Take the lead on day-of-event implementation, including set-up, venue coordination, catering, audio-visual, volunteer management, event flow, problem solving and tear down.
  • Cultivate relationships with influential individuals and organizations to help broaden ADL’s reach.
  • Stay abreast of programs and initiatives in which ADL may wish to take part, keep the regional office apprised and seek opportunities for ADL to participate (where desired).
  • Keep the regional office up-to-date on important and relevant news and developments in Minnesota.
  • Manage relationships with a portfolio of current donors.
  • Cultivate potential new supporters.
  • Seek opportunities to increase giving.
  • Support revenue generation when ADL holds fundraising events in Minnesota.
  • Provide leadership to the Minnesota Committee, including setting (and holding members accountable to) annual goals, convening monthly meetings, preparing agendas and routing notes after.
  • Assess Committee performance and impact against annual goals.
  • Recruit new members to join the Committee against parameters mutually agreed upon with the regional office.

Experience and Qualifications

Skills:

  • Strong verbal/written communication and presentation skills, including an ability to effectively communicate ADL’s mission, programs and engagement opportunities with constituents and prospects.
