Job Summary/Description:

The Amos and Celia Heilicher Minneapolis Jewish Day School is a K-8 community Jewish Day School open to all families who want to pursue an excellent secular and Jewish education for their children.

The School is seeking a full-time Middle School Judaic Studies Teacher for the 2019-2020 academic year. The ideal candidate will be a creative, charismatic educator with expertise in a broad range of Jewish Studies topics. He/she should have a record of creating strong relationships with students and be comfortable teaching in a pluralistic environment that emphasizes Jewish identity development and experiential education techniques.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include:

  • Teaching Jewish Studies (Bible, Rabbinics, Holidays, Prayer, etc.)
  • Collaborating with colleagues on curriculum development
  • Participating in planning Jewish programs and celebrations in the School.

Experience and Qualification Requirements:

Requirements: BA in Jewish Studies required, MA or rabbinic ordination preferred; successful experience teaching courses in Hebrew and/or Jewish Studies. Experience and/or training in Legacy Heritage Standards and Benchmarks program, Hadar Standards for Fluency in Jewish Text & Practice, differentiated instruction, technology integration, and working with students with diverse learning needs preferred.

Additional Information

This is a full-time position with some evenings, weekends and occasional out of town travel. The position includes a full health benefits package.
