Jewish Song of the Week: ‘I Am Enough’ by Josh Goldberg

On JRR we have an amazing show called “Jewish Holiday Remix,” where host and Jewish singer-songwriter Jacob Spike Kraus creates a playlist of songs for specific Jewish holidays that go beyond the obvious holiday songs. These songs have really subtle and thoughtful connections to those holidays. For a Purim episode, Spike chose “I Am Enough” by Josh Goldberg, a beautiful anthem of self-empowerment, and I wanted to share it with you along with Spike’s amazing explanation for how the song connects to Purim:

“Vashti knows her worth in a very public moment, yet we hear nothing about it at all [in the Megillah]. Esther questions her worth in a private moment, but we are witness to the whole tumultuous process … there isn’t one path. Some are confident in their self-worth, while others must go on a journey to find it for themselves. Regardless of how you arrive at the destination, these heroes teach us that ultimately we are enough, we are complete.”

YOU are enough. Chag Purim Sameach! Happy Purim!
