Minnesota JCRC Condemns Deadly Eilat Terror Attacks

The following is an important statement from our local JCRC regarding today’s terrorist attacks in Southern Israel.
Steve Hunegs, Executive Director of the Jewish Community Relations Council of Minnesota and the Dakotas (JCRC) issued the following statement regarding today’s terror attacks in Eilat and along the Israeli-Egyptian border:
“We condemn today’s lethal three-stage terrorist attack in southern Israel. While no group has yet to claim responsibility for today’s attacks, it is important to note that Iran, with its financial and military support of terrorist groups such as Hamas in Gaza, and Hezbollah in Lebanon, is rapidly expanding its influence in the region.
“We agree with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that these attacks are ‘a grave incident that struck at Israelis and the sovereignty of the state.’
“Our thoughts and prayers are with those in southern Israel injured and killed in today’s attacks and the hundreds of thousands of people in southern Israel living under the daily threat of mortar fire and Hamas rocket attacks.”
The JCRC is the public affairs voice of the Jewish community fighting anti-Semitism and prejudice, promoting tolerance and social justice, and representing Jews, individually and collectively, here and abroad.
