I’m going to go with the classic, old school country sound of Junior Brown. There’s just something about that sound that I like…
Neko Case, hands down.
I forgot to say why…Neko Case, hands down…her lyrics are often playful and yet simultaneously dark, and her voice is unmatched.
My favorite country singer is Willie Nelson. There’s that laid back feel to his musuc that is so relaxing
Merle Haggard, because of I turned 21 in prison doing life without parole; no one could steer me right but mama tried. His influence is undeniable and there isn’t a better selection on the jukebox while drinkin in a dive bar
Oh man. I’m not sure I have a favorite country singer, but I really want to see the Jakob Dylan concert.
The late great Mickey Katz..just listen to his rendition of “Duvid Crockett”…Oh, and Charlie Rich (the Silver Fox).
My favorite country singer is Johnny Cash. He really connected with his fans through his music and that’s why I like him.
Loretta Lynn hands down.
My favorite country singer is Lyle Lovett. He writes great songs and sings consistently well.
My favorite country singer is Alison Krauss. Her pure voice communicates exactly what she wants to say with the accurate emotion and without any extracurricular activities. Her music is real, honest, and unique in this day and age. It’s always true to herself, and her fans.
My favorite country singer is Martina McBride. She is fun to sing along to and her song Happy Girl says it all.
Lots of favorites but right now I’d have to go with Willie Nelson because his version of “Rainbow Connection” was the first song my husband and I played in our son’s just-finished nursery.
Congratulations Ilana! You won the pair of tickets to see Jakob Dylan live. Thank you all for entering!
