His name is synonymous with Jewish rock music. With reinventing (sometimes boring) synagogue tunes into inspiring campy rock hits. Basically, he’s a “trendy Jewish pop star with the soul of a Bar Mitzvah boy.”
In addition to stopping at nearby Camp Ramah (how could he not?), on Sunday, June 26th at 4:30pm, Rick Recht’s band tour is hitting Minneapolis’ Shalom Home West (3620 Phillips Parkway, St. Louis Park) for a concert for Bubbes, Babies, and everyone in between. Tickets are $10 in advance (by June 22nd), or $12 at the door. The concert is sponsored by PJ Library, a project that gives Jewish families in the Greater Minneapolis Area (and hopefully soon St. Paul) FREE Jewish books and CDs, which is funded in part through Jewish Family and Children’s Service of Minneapolis.
As always, TC Jewfolk has the hookup. We’re giving away a pair of free tickets to Rick Recht’s concert on June 26th. Want to win them? Answer this question in the comments before 10pm this Wednesday night, June 22nd: What synagogue prayer, song or melody would you like to hear Rick Recht reinvent? We’re drawing our winner randomly, so there’s no right answer. Good luck!

I can’t think of anything he has missed, but I would love to win the tickets to hear him with my family!
Ooh, I’d love to hear him do a rockin’ version of Ma Otzur, that’s a hanukkah song that’s always sounded so dull to me!
Aviva! You are the winner! I’ll email you the details!
