It’s Sukkot time! The Jewish holiday of building temporary dwellings in our backyards or porches or apartment balconies so we can remember the time when we were traveling the desert on the way to the Promised Land. And we get to eat, of course, because what holiday would be Jewish without lots of eating and sharing meals with friends and family. Sweet!
In honor of building awesome huts in our backyards, TC Jewfolk is kicking off our first ever #SickSukkah Photo Contest.
Share* a photo of the coolest looking Sukkah you’ve ever seen (it doesn’t have to be one you’ve built yourself, or even seen in person) on our Facebook page, tweet the photo with the hashtag #SickSukkah, or email the photo to our editor, [email protected], before this Friday 9/20 at sundown, to win a $36 giftcard to Home Depot. We’ll announce the winner on TCJewfolk.com after Shabbos, and will share our favorite #SickSukkahs on TCJewfolk.com throughout the remainder of the 8 days of Sukkot. You must be a resident of the USA to win.
*If the photo you’re sharing isn’t of a #SickSukkah that you built yourself, make sure to include a link with your email/tweet/facebook post to where you found the photo to give credit to the awesome person who did design/build it.Here’s one of our favorites, from the 2010 Sukkah City Competition in New York. Now that’s a hella #SickSukkah! Can you beat it?
