Job Summary/Description:
The Talmud Torah of Minneapolis is the supplemental Jewish school for grades 2-8 co-led by Adath Jeshurun and Beth El. We engage students of all backgrounds in educational experiences that provide a foundation and the lifelong tools to live an intentionally Jewish life. We offer a rigorous education that builds knowledge of Judaism and its traditional practices based on the teachings and egalitarian, pluralistic principles of the Conservative movement.
Talmud Torah is seeking creative and enthusiastic teachers for the 2017-18 school year. Elementary school classes (grades 2-5) meet twice a week, either on Sunday mornings and Wednesday afternoons or on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. Middle school classes (grades 6-8) meet on weekday afternoons and evenings, and schedules vary by grade.
Qualifications include:
- Formal or informal teaching experience
- Engaging and passionate about Jewish education
- A team player and open to collaboration
- Open to different teaching models
- Interested in learning and growing as a Jewish educator
- Knowledge of Jewish rituals, holidays and values
- Ability to read Hebrew
- Comfortable with technology
- Excellent interpersonal skills
Experience with experiential education a plus. College students, as well as more experienced candidates, are encouraged to apply.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
TT is seeking creative and enthusiastic teachers for sessions for 2017/2018 school year. Classes meet in 2 day sessions: Sunday morning,Monday-Thursday afternoons and evenings.
