Job Summary/Description:
Shir Tikvah seeks a 6th grade Hebrew School teacher. We are looking for a thoughtful, committed Jewish role-model, preferably with teaching experience, to facilitate our two 6th grade Hebrew classes. Our school focuses on prayer and liturgy, and 6th grade specifically revolves around prayer recitation and polishing, relationship-building with the siddur prayerbook) and prayer meanings and translations, and Torah trope if possible. Compensation to be discussed.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Hebrew School meet Wednesdays from 4:30-8, which includes two 1.5 hour class sessions and a 30-minute community t’filah (service) in the middle. Teachers are expected to work with clergy and administration to develop appropriate curriculum and lesson plans around liturgy and prayer as our 6th-grade students approach B’nei Mitzvah.
