TC Jewfolk’s first storytelling show was amazing!
On June 24, 2024, I was absolutely blown away by the 12 inaugural stories in our very first TC Jewfolk storytelling show, MN Mammalehs: Stories from the tribe.
The breadth, the quality, the emotion, the laughter.
It was a perfect night of Jewish storytelling and one that our community won’t forget.
The concept of TC Jewfolk’s Mammalehs show is very simple:
A bima, a microphone, and a story.
Together, the 12 cast members’ stories wove together all of our collective story about being – or having – a mammaleh.
The topics covered ranged from b’ashert to circumcision, Jewish preschools, “secular” holiday programs, conversion, bacon, shrimp, mother-in-laws, so much food, and so much more.
And the result left us all kvelling.
The show and its storytellers gifted the audience a moment of togetherness that we all shared, hearing the same stories, reacting as a group, participating oh-so-very fully in Jewish joy, and honoring a core value that TC Jewfolk holds very dearly:
Multiple entry points into Jewish life
From moments of cheeks-hurting laughter to quiet contemplation and everything in between, our community fell in love with this cast, these stories, and this show.
So much so that our Mammalehs show is already slated to be back next year, when 12 brand new stories will be cast to be told on the bima.
Auditions will be held next spring.
Be sure to stay on our email list to be the first to know about the show date, the call for auditions, and when tickets sales open.
Our second annual Mammalehs show will be in June 2025.
From beginning to end, this show upholds another one of TC Jewfolk’s core values: Storytelling, SIPUR SIPURIM.
As an organization, we believe that we have a sacred obligation to link past and future by sharing the Jewish stories of today.
And that’s exactly what we did together!
Our photographer, Ethan Roberts Photography, captured small moments at the show.
I want to share just a few of them with you so that you can have a glimpse of what the evening felt like.
Be a part of this magic with us next time. Stay on our email list to be the first to know about all things about the show!

Last night’s event MN MAMMALEHS Stories from the Tribe was one of the most outstanding events I have ever attended. And that includes Broadway performances where I never thought I could ever love anything more, local events, events that I have been blown away with that I have attended in other countries and so much more. This was truly the most outstanding event on so many levels.

Congratulations on a wonderful event last night at Beth El. While I have loved all the shows at LTYM and will still attend those, this group of women filled my Jewish soul. Thank you!

Did I miss an acknowledgment that the event was held at Beth El Synagogue in St Louis Park? It appears that they weren’t listed as a sponsor.
