Minnesota JCC Employee Arrested, Fired

A member of the Minnesota JCC’s administrative team has been fired following an arrest for alleged criminal activity, according to an email sent to the community Wednesday afternoon.

Minnesota JCC CEO Stephanie Chauss said in the email that they were acknowledging the development “in the spirit of transparency.”

“One of our administrative employees was recently arrested for alleged criminal activities. These activities were unrelated to bias, discrimination, or hostility toward Jewish individuals or community,” Chauss wrote. “In keeping with our JCC employment policies, the employee has been terminated from their position.

“This individual held an administrative role with limited contact with members and participants.”

Because the investigation is ongoing, she said she is  unable to share additional details such as the arrest date and status of the investigation. Because the person has not yet been criminally charged, TC Jewfolk is not naming the individual.

“The safety and security of our community remain our top priority, and we hold all of our staff to the highest standards of conduct,” Chauss wrote. “In addition to initiating immediate actions to determine if the Minnesota JCC has been impacted in any way, we are cooperating fully with law enforcement in an effort to ensure a thorough investigation.”
