7/18/10:
Can you think of anything more fun than an afternoon of art, wine and yummy eats prepared by local chefs? Didn’t think so. And what could make it even better? If it was for a good cause (because drinking wine in the name of charity *always* makes it taste better). Check out An Afternoon of Art in the Garden, benefiting Rimon: The Minnesota Jewish Arts Council and The Jewish Historical Society of the Upper Midwest. Tickets might be a little pricey for some at $72 but it’s not every day that you get to shmooze and booze while checking out amazing art pieces by 10 Jewish artists right here in Minnesota.
7/21/10:
I’d just assume that you’re already planning on joining the crew for the Beth El Young Adults happy hour at the hot, new Cafeteria in Uptown but you know what they say about making assumptions…The party’s happening on the main floor lounge (reserved) from 5:30 – 8:30. Be there or be square.
7/22/10:
You know what the best thing about Israeli TV is? Closed captioning. On every single show. Haven’t had a chance to watch a lot of Israeli shows lately? Here’s your chance: Join Adath Jeshurun and enjoy excerpts from S’rugim, an Israeli television drama that defies boundaries and is spreading in popularity to the United States. S’rugim follows the lives of five young Jewish single men and women in Jerusalem, trying to establish themselves in the workplace while searching for love (think Sex and the City meets the “modox” scene). The excerpts are in Hebrew with English subtitles. Noga Shavit, Israeli shlicha, leads a discussion (just before she finishes her term here and returns to Israel). The event is co-sponsored by the Jewish Singles Collaborative. A suggested donation of $10 makes for cheap entertainment.
