What the Bleep?! This week's hot Jewish news
It’s officially the time between the Rosh and Yom Kip. The time to ask a lot of questions and maybe get a few answers – from God, ourselves, whatever. Check out http://www.renewyear.com/ and sign up for their question of the day (1 a day for 10 days – thus its name, 10Q). Why? Because it’s weird. And interesting. And makes you think. And did we mention Jewish?
You know that our Minnesota Twin Danny Valencia is Jewish, right? But do you really know anything about his game? Aaron Gleeman has the scoop, reminding me how little I know about baseball. I’m working on it, I’m working on it, I promise. Go Twins! Read -“How Good is Danny Valencia?”
If you haven’t seen it yet, here’s Prez Obama’s New Year’s message to America’s Jews (Thanks Capital J). Thoughts? Add ’em in the comments. He’s seems pretty optimistic on the Two state solution, what do you think Palestinian Authority?… (see below)
And as a point – counterpoint to Prez Obama’s optimism, let’s hear it for denial and stupidity! Or, I mean, for the Palestinian Authority’s position on Israel. “PA official: We won’t recognize Israel as a Jewish state” (Haaretz). Really? I mean, Really? WTF. Then’s what’s the point of all this Jewish liberal rallying for a two-state solution when our “negotiating party” isn’t willing to recognize Israel’s essence as a Jewish state? Puke.
And you think it was hard growing up Jewish on the Iron Range? Try China. Or just read this article. Being Jewish in Shanghai (Photos) (The Atlantic).
Accused American is marking Rosh Hashanah in Cuban jail (STLToday). And you thought your Rosh Hashanah dinner with family was harsh. But in all seriousness, this is crazy. Hey Prez Obama – can’t you fix this?

Yup the PA should recognize Israel as a Jewish state so that they can watch Netenyahu and his settler buddies put the shaft to Israeli Arabs and Palestinian refugees.
I thought Jenna told me there should be no preconditions to the negotiations and Jews should be allowed to settle in Palestine (although she refused to answer if the opposite should be true). What gives ?
