A Priest and a Rabbi walk into a bar…
Do you like jokes? Do you like Jewish jokes? Do you like Jewish comedians?
Jerry Seinfeld, Larry David, Woody Allen, Rodney Dangerfield, Billy Crystal, Lewis Black, Brad Garrett, Jeff Garland, Adam Sandler, Seth Rogen, Jonah Hill, Nick Kroll, Marc Maron, Michael Ian Black, David Cross… you get the idea.
Did you know that Minnesota has one of the best stand-up comedy clubs in the country? Every week Acme Comedy Company brings in a national headliner to do a run of shows at their downtown location. But going as often as we know you want to can get expense quick, so we want to ease your burden.
TC Jewfolk has two free tickets to Acme Comedy Club on Thursday, September 12 at 8:00 PM.
Who’s Performing?
The very funny Myq Kaplan (pronounced “Mike Kaplan”).
Myq has appeared on all the late night talk shows and has his own half-hour Comedy Central Presents: Myq Kaplan special.
“A Jewy-ish atheistic vegan who spells the name “Mike” weird (sorry or you’re welcome), Myq enjoys words, social justice, Netflix, and comic books. Also non-comic books, ping-pong, and being great with women. And grammar and run-on sentence fragments. And of course, entertaining his demographic, which is anyone who might know the word “demographic.”
Myq is self-described not that Jewish, but still “run away from Hitler,” Jewish. He doesn’t shy away from poking fun at his Jewish roots though: “My wife and I did the Jewish divorce custom where we took a broken glass and we put it back together.” And this show is the night before Yom Kippur, so at least he’ll have some solid material to work with.
What do you say? The best part is you can go see this show instead of doing whatever else you were supposed to do, then wash that sin away the very next day!
To win, post your favorite Jewish joke in the comments. If it’s too long post the link, or just give us your favorite Jewish comedian not named Myq. We’ll draw a winner at random on Sunday.
