The Twin Cities Jewish film fest offers a look into all different aspects of Jewish life and Richard Lewis comes to St. Paul to entertain the Twin Cities.
Maven Heaven ($10)
Twin Cities Jewish Film Festival Presents: Iris
Sat. Oct. 31; 7:30 p.m.; St. Paul JCC; 1375 St. Paul Avenue, St. Paul, MN
This documentary chronicles the life of 93-year-old Iris Apfel, a quick-witted Jewish maven who was a huge fashion sensation in New York for decades. The point of the doc is to illustrate how age truly is just a number when it comes to the spirit. Awwwww.
Twofer ($10)
Twin Cities Jewish Film Festival Presents: Two 30-Minute Films – Crossing the Line & Of Many
Sun. Nov. 1; 9:30 a.m.; St. Paul JCC; 1375 St. Paul Avenue, St. Paul, MN
These two documentary shorts, “Crossing the Line 2: The New Face of Anti-Semitism on Campus” and “Of Many” explore the rise of anti-Israel activities and the growing tension of Jewish and Muslim students on college campuses, respectively. How that topic can be shoe-horned into two 30-minute documentaries I do not know, but it sounds pretty intense, nonetheless.

Homeland ($10)
Twin Cities Jewish Film Festival Presents: Jerusalem
Sun. Nov. 1; 4 p.m.; Science Museum of Minnesota; 120 W Kellogg Blvd, St Paul, MN 55102
This is a tale of one tiny city that is embraced by the three of the major religions. The IMAX documentary offers exciting, “unprecedented” footage of the Holy Land. Come see why so many people are still in love with the awe-inspiring ancient city. Or stay home and watch reruns of “Newhart.” You decide.
