We here at TC Jewfolk got to thinking this morning – could the “traditional” Irish corned beef and cabbage be the same as Jewish corned beef? (OK maybe we’re a little late to the party on this one.)
If, like us, you had no clue about the connection between the Jews and the Irish, you will be very interested to learn that not only did Irish immigrants to the US “adopt” corned beef as a popular dish because of their close proximity to the Jewish community, but they did so as a substitute for – of all things – bacon!
