Charlie Levine has been hired as JFS’s first Chief Development Officer. He will lead the agency’s resource development program including relationship building and fundraising from individuals, corporations, and foundations. He will also oversee JFS’s planned giving program.
Charlie began his connection with JFS in 1999 when he and his wife, Marjorie Dana-Levine, helped resettle a refugee family from Kosovo. He consulted with JFS before joining its Board of Directors and chairing its Development Committee. He is a former engineer, attorney, and financial planner.
Charlie is driven by the Jewish value of Tikun Olam, one of JFS’s core values. During the past 15 years, he has served in development and management with other nonprofit organizations including Northeast Youth and Family Services, HIRED, Science Museum of Minnesota, and The Nature Conservancy. He is very active in the Jewish community, having served on the boards of Mount Zion Temple, where he is a member, Talmud Torah of St. Paul, and the Jewish Federation of Greater St. Paul.
