As the Beta Chapter of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Pi at the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities, in addition to upholding the mission statement of the national organization, we shall: embody a compassionate and supportive sisterhood of Jewish women, in which we value trust, loyalty, and honesty. Together we will empower one another to better ourselves, our campus, and our greater Jewish community.
While this year has changed so much in our world one thing has remained certain; our need for community & connection. As the U of M’s only Jewish sorority, we provide a strong & creative community for Jewish women on campus. Our sisterhood has fun events, study nights, and holiday programming. We love spending time with our sisters doing everything from wellness activities to bake-offs, formals, apple picking, game nights, and more! Our sisterhood combines community-building experience (through events) with an emphasis on scholarship and philanthropy. All while putting our values first. Even though we focus on Jewish values and are technically a Jewish-Interest sorority, you do not need to personally identify as Jewish or practice at any specific level to become a member. Our sisterhood is a welcoming and safe space for all to find their home on campus while being supported by strong women.
In order to get involved in our sisterhood, we ask that potential new members first reach out to our Rush Chair. They are happy to meet you on zoom for a coffee date to not only get to know you but to help you get to know our sisterhood. From there, you are welcome to attend our Rush events and/or programs with our sisters to learn about our organization, values, and philanthropy. All you need to do to receive a bid for membership from us is to show up to 3 of 5 events and actively participate. If you are interested in learning more about our sisterhood reach out to our Rush Chair, Emily, at [email protected]
Sigma Alpha Epsilon Pi’s key values are strength, trust, sincere sisterhood, unity, and exemplifying Jewish values (in our day-to-day lives). In every meeting and event we put on we not only reflect on our values but also put them into action. We believe in the power of women as well as the bond that sisterhood and our values give us. Our sisterhood works to strengthen our community with regular programming that brings sisters together and gives them a space to relax, have fun, and foster genuine connections. We keep a consistent meeting schedule and supplement it with programs (study nights or other activities) as well as pop-up casual opportunities to bring our sisters together.
We look forward to meeting you!
