Elisa Bernick had thought she was writing a book that was fictionalizing her upbringing in New Hope. It turns out, she had the stories more right than she knew. Bernick’s newest book, ‘Departure Stories: Betty Crocker Made Matzoh Balls (and Other Lies),’ is out on Oct. 4. We talk about her career in journalism, how long this memoir has been in the works, and why this was the time to confront some of the things she chose to, this week’s Who The Folk?! Podcast.
