Julie Dean’s passion for Mussar – the thousand-year-old Jewish tradition centered on character traits – led her to start Twin Cities Mussar, an organization that is devoted to facilitating groups for those who are interested. And plenty are interested: There are 18 active groups now, with plans to add several more this year. We talk about what Mussar is, where her passion for the practice comes from, and how interest in the Twin Cities has increased – particularly since October 7, on this week’s Who The Folk?! Podcast.
This week’s episode is sponsored by The Ordway Center for the Performing Arts in St. Paul, presenting “Mandy Patinkin in Concert: Being Alive” on April 19 and 21, and Ethan Roberts Photography, for headshot, B’nei Mitzvah, wedding, senior photo needs.
