In occupied France, Gilles is arrested and sent to a concentration camp. He avoids execution by swearing that he is not Jewish, but Persian. This lie saves him, but Gilles gets assigned a life-or-death mission: to teach Farsi to Head of Camp Koch. Gilles manages to survive by inventing words of “Farsi” every day, but Koch’s suspicions grow.

Audience Award: Best Narrative, 2021

Be sure to register for either the Sabes Center Minneapolis OR Capp Center St. Paul screening.
