Minneapolis Jewish Federation’s Israel Center Presents Israel Series. There is so much misinformation about Israel that it is hard to keep things straight. Israel Series aims to provide factual information on pressing topics, information on how our community is helping Israel, and inspiration about the place we consider so important. Regardless of someone’s knowledge or comfort level regarding Israel, there is something for everyone!
Barak Heymann has been directing and producing documentaries for TV and cinema for more than 20 years. Heymann Brothers Films, the independent film company led by Barak and his brother Tomer, has produced over 30 documentaries, some as international co-productions. Their films have premiered in numerous festivals worldwide, such as Berlinale, IDFA, and Hot Docs, where they have won prestigious awards. In his exciting new lecture about Minorities in Israel filmmaker Barak Heymann interweaves clips from his vast work to show the complex layers of Israeli reality. Israel Behind The Scenes is an interactive emotional artistic journey into the heart of Israel’s DNA. With over twenty years of Israeli filmmaking, Barak Heymann is uniquely positioned to speak about aspects of Israeli culture, at times conflicted yet full of potential and hope.
