Cole Hanson has made the Hamline-Midway neighborhood of St. Paul home since he arrived to attend Hamline University. Ever since he has become involved in the Hamline-Midway Coalition, leading the organization for nearly three years, and putting his public health background to good use. Now, with an unanticipated opening on the St. Paul City Council, Hanson’s neighbors think enough of the work he’s done to push him to run for the seat in an upcoming special election for Ward 4. On this week’s 300th episode (!) of the Who The Folk?! Podcast, Hanson talks about what inspired him to run, the work he’s done in the Hamline-Midway neighborhood, and how his Jewish values are infused in his candidacy.
