Position Summary:

This critical position manages information, processes and workflow relating to education and advocacy for the Jewish Community Relations Council of Minnesota and the Dakotas (JCRC). This incorporates intake and initial engagement of volunteers; managing the information around all requests for presentations, training, exhibits, and case work; producing reports; and supporting the education and advocacy team with related administration.

There are four areas of primary responsibilities:

1) consolidation and management of comprehensive data relating to volunteers, donors and all advocacy and education programming as well as case work;

2) managing volunteer relationships;

3) process and resource standardization; and

4) build capacity for the education and advocacy leadership team by providing project and information management support.

This position will work to advance the multiple missions of the JCRC.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Expand the reach and impact of the JCRC through establishing and managing comprehensive, centralized data management:

  • Project manage consolidation and cleaning of data relating to volunteers, donors, organizations, events, actions and case work.
  • Maintain information on availability and training level of volunteers.
  • Work with JCRC leadership team to identify and fill in data gaps.
  • Establish and manage procedures for ensuring clean entry, use, reporting and management of all data so that it is accessible and visible to the entire staff.
  • Support the JCRC leadership team in effective use of the database, including pulling lists, updating records, designing and running periodic and ad hoc reports, sending mailings (including marketing), and other needs as identified.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Build capacity for the JCRC and its leadership team through volunteer engagement and relationship-building and management:

  • Establish and manage intake process for all volunteers across all program areas
  • Prepare volunteers for success by ensuring they have all necessary talking points and briefing materials; organizing training; collecting and managing pertinent data/information from volunteers; and serving as first point of contact for questions, requests, and concerns.
  • Handling assignment and management of standard engagements suitable for volunteer delivery, as determined by leadership team.
  • Support the JCRC leadership team with targeting subsets of the volunteer pool appropriate to participate or lead any given event or participate in constituent action (based on voting districts) and coordinating such events and actions. 
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Contribute to the growth, efficiency and sustainability of the JCRC through process and resource standardization and management:

  • Document and manage standard operating procedures for a wide range of education and advocacy activities, programs, and interactions.
  • Work with JCRC leadership team to fill in gaps in documentation.
  • Identify opportunities for further standardization and centralization of processes and resources.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Build capacity and scalability for the education and advocacy leadership team through supporting their optimization of data management systems:

  • Manage and assist with data entry, management and reporting to reduce executive burden on all members of the leadership team.
  • Coordinate calendars and requests for meetings.
  • Assist with the writing and transmission of thank you notes, project summaries, talking points and other ancillary documentation.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly board reports.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Experience and Qualifications Requirements: 

  • Highly organized
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office
  • Experienced with Salesforce for nonprofits (or similar structured data platform)
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects of varying urgency and timelines simultaneously
  • Flexibility and adaptability with regard to shifting priorities and emerging needs
  • Creative problem-solving and a focus on removing barriers to productivity for leadership team
  • Commitment to the multiple missions of the JCRC

We anticipate the successful candidate will have 5+ years of experience, ideally in the nonprofit sector in a programmatic, volunteer management, or operations management capacity.

Our office is located at the Barry Family Campus at 4330 Cedar Lake Road S., St. Louis Park, MN 55416. This is an in-person position.
